I'm not allowed to discuss politics until 2010, but you should read this:

I will note parenthetically that I was completedly fooled on Iraq, but had I listened to Greg Cochran's views here ( I would have been a lot closer to correct, which is a large part of the reason I'm skeptical of Iran as a threat and trying to be appropriately skeptical of Afghanistan.

The really great thing about Cochran is he's quantitative, cogent, and fact-based. You can disagree with his priorities but you should always hear out people like this.


P.S. I didn't see this article at the time, but even though the surge in Iraq worked, should we have done it? Cochran discussed an alternative at the time.
